KB1044: Relaying mail via your ISP mail server using SSL.
Some ISPs allow the ability to send mail from your computer to their servers via Secure Socket Layer (SSL). This provides secure communication betwen your computer and your ISP's mail servers. 602LAN SUITE can be configured to relay mail via your ISP's SSL SMTP server by doing the following:
Open 602LAN SUITE.
Click Settings, then Advanced Configuration.
Click the SMTP tab.
Click to add a checkmark to the Send outgoing mail via ISP's SMTP server option.
In the ISP's SMTP server field, enter your ISP provided SMTP server and port number, separated by a colon (:). For example, if your ISP says you need to connect to mail.someisp.com on port 2525, you would enter mail.someisp.com:2525 in this field.
Click Save to save your settings.
Note: Not all ISPs support SSL SMTP communications. Please consult your ISP for details as to if this is a service that is provided and what server/port you need to use to connect to this service. The above instructions will also work if your ISP uses a port other than the RFC standard port 25 for standard SMTP traffic.
