Fax Quality
Posted by  Brian Stanswood  on Wednesday, October 29, 2003 at 5:34:22 AM (EST)
The Quality of the faxes we send out are poor. Can they be improved. We use Office 2000 and over an Ethernet lan network and window 2000 NT!
Thanks

I don't think there's any way to change the fax quality, but if it's poor you're either using tiny fonts that are bleeding or you have a line noise problem on your fax line.

The Quality issue is also seen on the preview page before it gets faxed. So it is an issue with the conversion from word to the Fax !
I am using a 12dpi font normally times roman char set!

Well then I would begin looking at other causes like line noise or errors in the transmission. My faxes are acceptable. Fax quaity is not and will never be as perfect as a $5000 laser printer. Keep that in mind.

Hi Again
I am just trying to get the same quality as i would if i was to send a fax manually through a normal fax machine. I have changed the font type to an arial and this has improved the fax quality to an acceptable standard - It is down to the conversion from a word documnet to a TIFF?? file that you use to send the fax out on. Thanks for your help.

You can change the Fax602 Printer Driver from 200x100 DPI to 200x200 DPI in order to solve your problem
