Setting Up LDAP
Posted by  Art Brennan  on Wednesday, October 22, 2003 at 6:30:52 PM (EST)
I turned it on, set it up for internal address only, default (389) port. In outlook 2003, i added the ldap address book, but when i try to access it, i get the message LDAPV2 Referral received and nothing. If i do a find I get the same error with (9) after the referral repeatedly.

Help

I've not set it up in outlook 2003, but I've seen this error with Outlook XP. The problem was that the search base was different on the client.

Check out this page:

http://support.software602.com/products/ls2002/installation.asp?id=8

Try to get Outlook Express working using the instructions there and see if it works. Then you can adapt these instructions to Outlook 2003.

OK, now I am past the errors trying to connect, but when I search for a name or email in the LDAP, every search returns "There are no users in the directory service that match your search criteria"

Any suggestions?

You're lucky. I just switched on this option after running 2003 for months with no problems. The moment I switched on LDAP, the service crashed and now it won't restart.

I have also commented in this thread: http://support.software602.com/forum/view.asp?cid=8&gid=9364&pgno=1

As it covered the problem Im having -

Select LDAP service to "on" and LANSuite crashes completely.

Upgraded to 2003.0.03.0828 - Still the same.
