602 LAN Suite and MS Proxy server 2?
Posted by  Is Team  on Thursday, November 15, 2001 at 12:34:08 PM (EST)
Is anyone running a setup like we are. 602 behind a MS Proxy Server?

Any hints or tips? I cant seem to get this thing to work. I can send out but we cant grab any incoming mail.

No I've got the opposite problem. I can't send out but I can receive though I've got a different server!

I've finally solved this problem. The current setup we have is as follows:

Win2k Server, IIS5 and Proxy Server 2

NT 4 Server, 602Pro LAN suite

The way I got it to work is
1. Had the ISP enable SMTP spooling
2. Changed the SMTP Virtual Server Properties in IIS:
a. Authentication = Anonymous
b. Relay Restrictions = Only List below, IP of ISP's mail server
c. Connection Control = Only List below, IP of ISP's mail server
d. Advanced Properties of Delivery = FQDN=Proxy server name, Smart Host=[xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx](IP of mail server)

On the 602 side of things I have 602 sending email out through the ISP's SMTP server.
