The titale bar read the filename OK. ?????? Larry

This could be a lot of things. Most likely the excel file is either an incompatible format (like office XP, PC Suite works with Office 97/2000), or it has macros in the file that Tab isn't reading. PC Suite doesn't support macros.

Thanks for the reply. The xls files that I need to open are coming from work. I have daily files that I must receive and work with. Oh well, so much for microsoft alternatives. I don't like it- but I see that I am going to have to buy MS Excel. what a bummer. Larry

I just thought of another question. Does anyone know of I can buy an older versionof Excle or Office like 97? and be able to read the newer Excel files? Larry Obvioulsy I want to buy as inexpensively as possible. So, I want to look for older on sale software.

You could always go here http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?FamilyID=4EB83149-91DA-4110-8595-4A960D3E1C7C&displaylang=EN and download a Microsoft Excel Viewer and still use 602Tab to create your own compatible spreadsheets.

Many thanks Anthony! Yes the microsoft viewer allowed me to see the Excel files sent. Now- just for my information... Why didn't 602TAB do the same thing? It says it will import .xls from Excel 97/2000 Larry
