connection was forcibly closed

I no longer recieve mail. In looking at the log it states that any connection are forciby closed. Any ideas what might be going on?

Check if SMTP server accept your connections? Some servers are set up to accept only certain address range.

Who is your actual IP provider? WIth the current rash of virus/worms out a lot of IP's are no longer forwarding email. We ran into this problem with fuse.net in Cincinnati Ohio. We had to use the Fuse smtp address to send mail because Fuse was our IP provider, but our email was on someone else's servers.

Resolved!

After rebooting both my cable modem and router it started working again. Not sure which device was causing the problem but it is now working fine.
