Are you sure it's true RTF format? Can you open it in Wordpad?

Yes, I can use wordpad, but not on all of them. It is a tedious way to go, but i am doing it. Do you have any other suggestions? I would appreciate any help.

it sounds to me like the wordperfect files are not true RTF files which would explain why some don't work in wordpad either. The fact that they work in Wordpad indicate most likely that they have word macros embedded in them, which break the .rtf format.
