SMTP Receive Mail Outlook Error:0x800ccc19

Have Lansuite 2003 installed on a Win2k box using all its functions to run a small office.
Everything is operating perfectly except that none of the email clients (Outlook 2000) can receive mail (they send fine) apart from the Lansuite "server".

Whenever a client connects to send/receive, mails to be sent go ok but when receiving mail Outlook displays Receiving mail x of x and then after approx 2 mins trying to retrieve mails returns an error message.
"A timeout occurred while communicating with the server. (Account:User, POP3 server:, Error Number: 0x800ccc19)

Note: I use as "server" ip and dhcp for other clients.

Any feedback appreciated!

1.) Check for the SMTP service in your Windows services.

2.) Disable Norton Antivirus if present.

3.) Can your clients ping the server and vice-versa?

4.) Disable the firewall if turned on (for troubleshooting purposes).

Thanks for the prompt reply,
1. Windows SMTP service is not running on server or clients
2. Norton Antivirus is not installed on any system.
3. Clients can ping server and vice versa.
4. Firewall is disabled.

With these adjustments there is no change to the symptoms described earlier.

As an additional note, after attampting to send/receive from the client Lansuite listings return : Connection error (Winsock: An existing connection was forcibly closed by the remote host.).

Also note that webmail is operating correctly on all clients.

I have this same problem. Over the last couple years others have posted the same problem and as far as I know there is not an answer. I hoped the problem would go away with LS2003 but it hasn't.

For me, the problem comes and goes. It seems to start when LS has about 100 messages ready to be received by a client. The only way I have found to fix this problem is to use the webmail interface to delete some of the messages on the server.

Let me know If you find out how to fix this problem.

I finally managed to resolve the issue by uninstalling Lansuite and installing WinRoute instead. After over two days trying to get Lansuite to work Winroute installed and worked perfectly first time and apart from a few settings changes its worked perfectly since. Sorry I couldn't be more help.
