Sick of spam
Posted by  Grant Nicklin  on Tuesday, July 01, 2003 at 6:17:11 AM (EST)
I have LS2003 5 user version and am geting swamped with spam. My email addresses are set a ISP level (four of them) and I think LS is using the POP3 server there rather than on my server. I understand that this is the reason I can't check those spam servers on the LS "ant-spam" tab to process my email. I find the manual a bit hard to understand on this matter.

Maybe I can change my setup so that I can have spam killed off by LS? Any help will be most appreciated.

The Anti-Spam features only work for mail received directly through the SMTP server. This is because the CONNECTION is rejected, not the actual mail. If you are picking your mail up via POP3 collection from your ISP, this mail is not scanned for spam. You may want to talk to your ISP because a lot of them are now starting to use blacklists on their servers and perhaps you can get them to implement one for you.
