ISAPI Support
Posted by  David Martin  on Friday, May 30, 2003 at 10:26:56 AM (EST)
ISAPI support is mentioned in the Lansuite specifications ... but I can not find any information on how to set it up. Specifically I want to setup PHP for ISAPI.

Would appreciate any pointers in the right direction.

Thanks,

David

There's instructions for setting up PHP in the Knowledge Base.

That is CGI not ISAPI ...

Robert is correct, setup PHP as described in the article.
As far as I can tell all executable code must be in the cgi-bin, and the FastCGI tab just points the file extension to the program that runs the code.
.php to C:\php\php.exe
.pl to C:\Perl\bin\perl.exe
.cgi to C:\Perl\bin\perl.exe

I had already found this arcticle ... but ... it is how to setup PHP for CGI not for ISAPI.

Sorry, I forgot PHP had ISAPI mode.
I see it is still buggy, according to the documentation. They have dlls for Apache and IIS under windows, but will they also run on LAN SUITE?

PHP in ISAPI runs under the Sambar server ... and the Lansuite docs say it supports ISAPI but I not found a single example of how to implement ... and I have been looking for awhile.

David,

Why would you really want to run the ISAPI module when PHP runs about 10x faster as a CGI? Also, even the PHP.net site admits the isapi module is very, very buggy.

If you are insistant on running an ISAPI module, I'm pretty sure that all you need to do is drop the .DLL into the cgi-bin folder, then call to it with xxx.dll?filename.ext

So not only does the isapi module not work well, but the URL looks horrible too.
