Hosting 2 domains with www server
Posted by  Finn Nielsen  on Saturday, April 12, 2003 at 2:59:35 PM (EST)
Hi,

Does anybody know if Lansuite 2002 is capable of hosting 2 domains with the www server, so that www.site1.com will go to one set of files, and www.site2.com will go to another set of files. Apache has this feature as Virtual Homes or sites, can lansuite do this?

Any help appriciated!

Nope. LS doesn't support multiple domains.

If you can redirect the other domain to the secure https port, or a sub directory you may be able to have it host more than one domain. It's just a thought - I haven't tried it.

Thanks for the replies. I found a solution that seems to work quite okay.
Lansuite does not change the url that is used to address the server. So it is possible to make a javascript on the start page that checks if the url is site1.com or site2.com and then redirect them to the correct site.

Again thanks for the replies!

Finn

Could you email me the JavaScript for the URL checking?
