Error: Too many users from one IP
Posted by  Thomas Deharde  on Wednesday, March 05, 2003 at 1:23:07 PM (EST)
I got the same error message as posted by Jack Cheang on 1/27/2003.
I've got only 2 users connected and this message appears frequently when accessing the web. The only solution is to go to another website and then go back again after some time or simply to wait some time.
This error didn't appear with a Lansuite version of September last year. Last weekend I updated the system and now I get this error message.
Is there any setting that fixes this problem.

Otherwise, everything works well :-)

Did you also update your browser to IE 6? If so, there was a bug that MS has patched that caused IE to try an authenticate over and over. I could see this being a cause, because IE would multithread the authentication... LS would think too many users... Patch and try your luck.

Sure enough, I have IE 5.5 on my system. However, this error also occurs with Netscape, Mozilla and Opera.
The only solution so far: I reinstalled the older version of Lansuite and... the error message is gone.

It's a few months since your post, but did you ever solve this problem ?

I posted the same question (22-Jan-2004), but have not had any replies !

no, not really, I re-installed the older version and have happily been working with that one ever since. Mind you, it might be worth trying the newest version.

I have been having this problem too. When I attempt to get a web page through the proxy, 602LAN SUITE 2004 [latest built] rapidly opens a large number of ports, then reaches its limit and closes them all. It never actually connects with the required site.

Here is part of my log: -

3:50:32 PROXY: 3320 To many users from one IP(04)

I have searched the formum and this is the only thread that deals with this problem, as far as I can tell, but there is no solution offered either, as far as I can tell.

Can anyone enlighten me as to what is going on and the solution?
