Authorization - pass protect web folders
Posted by  James Duhart  on Monday, November 18, 2002 at 1:50:00 PM (EST)
I would like to password protect certain directories on the WWW server. For example, open access to servername.net, however servername.net/protected will require a username and password. I'd really like the prompt to be like what is used to authorize remote access, however a fastCGI application may be fine as well. Any solutions or ideas would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!

You might want to check Hotscripts or a similar script repository. LAN Suite doesn't support HTTP_AUTH, I do know that.

Try:
http://www.hotscripts.com

(I love that site)

I confirm, no auth control.
For sensitive content, I use Apache NT (supports auth) on same machine, port 81. Works fine.
