How to delete some of the backups
Posted by  Dejan Zarkovic  on Friday, May 15, 2009 at 9:28:29 AM (EST)
Hi, i want to delete some backups from disk, because disk is almost full. How to do that and which backups files is safe to delete, because during one backup 2 folders are created: for example,
0903111116.BAYES
0903111116.GWDATA
Which can delete from this two folders or i can delete both?
Goal is to leave last two backups and rest to delete?

If you set the limit to the amount of backups to keep, you won't have this problem. We set our # to 3.

Every once in a while, I get the message that the backup is in progress even when it is not, and then it stops backing up.

Our solution to this is we have two different backup directories. Once it stops backing up, we change to the other directory (Which has been emptied by deleting all files in it first) and then restart.

The first backup after this is usually twice as large as the subsequent backups.

So I would just select to have a certain amount of backups (whatever you feel comfortable with) and you should be fine.
