Is this kind of setup supported? I would like to have SMTP also listen on port 587 and required auth login.

SMTP auth is not supported in LS2004 but it is in the new groupware. You can change the port that the SMTP server listens on via the SMTP tab in the settings, but it can't listen on 2 ports at the same time.
