Changing mail directories location
Posted by  Pierre Borgne  on Tuesday, September 26, 2006 at 3:54:37 PM (EST)
Hi all

I have a server with two separate disk
the first one only has software while the second holds all my personal data
I've install LanSuite on the software drive and I would like to move the mail directories to the other drive.

Is it possible? If so what directories should I move and how can I tell LanSuite where to look for them?

thanks in advance

-Pierre

To my knowlage, all of the LS dir stucture must remain as is.
If you are using W2k Server or above, you can use reparse points (junction links) to relocate any directory. Reparse points are used by windows Active Directory and the RSM service to create virtual links to data that exist somewhere else. Microsoft do not have a tool to use reparse points ( although Drive Management and Drive Paths are infact reparse points ).
www.sysinternals.com have a tool, but I would recommend a peice of software called 'junction link magic'.
If you cannot find these softwares or do not understand reparse points - don't try it!
