Advanced configuration
Posted by  Paolo Giazzi  on Monday, April 10, 2006 at 9:48:53 AM (EST)
Just installed the software and testing on our system. We need advice on configuring two items:

1. Is there any way to avoid the fax server to reply? We're running it together with a fax machine we would like to reply to calls, instead of the 602LAN Suite fax server. Leaving the number of rings to 0 disables the auto-reply feature?

2. Is there a way to perform an IP filtering on SOCKS port different from the HTTP IP filtering? We would like to authorizes users using HTTP different form users authorized on SOCKS, or FTP.

Thank you for advices!

1. No, but you could create a bogus account for those delivery reports, then configure the fax client to use that account.

2. No. The Socks IP filter is the same as the http IP filter.

Thank you, Robert. We'll have to find a workaround then.

Is there any plans to support this feature (SOCKS auth different from HTPP).

Thank you.
