Posted by  Steven Walker  on Wednesday, February 22, 2006 at 4:08:09 PM (EST)
Hello is there any news on when this great program will be updated, to include some of the wish list items etc,

as someone else has pointed out no new major revision since 2004.

Brgds
Steve

Keep up the good work

I responded to the wishlist post and said what I knew about. There's no new version because they're hard at work with a completely new version of the software. I mean everything in this is supposed to have changed...which is why it's taking so long.

Is the new version going to include options for integrating with open source servers, such as BIND 9, openLDAP, ISC DHCP, and webmin?

Or even proprietary, freeware such as Microsoft ADAM as an LDAP server?

I hope it can, at least to some degree.

I've been building up my system so that BIND's dns zones are stored in LDAP/ADAM, and DHCP IP leases dynamically update DNS records in openLDAP/ADAM via BIND.

I was thinking next of how I can use LDAP/ADAM for user and workstation authentication.

Sooner or later I think I'll have to either integrate it with LS, or bypass some LS features. Integation would be preferrable.

My plan is to build up my system to the point that it is comparable to MS SBS.

Regards,

David Williams
