Message Processing
Posted by  Eric Praske  on Thursday, December 29, 2005 at 2:20:22 PM (EST)
How do I get Lan Suite to process messages faster?

For example, I send a message from a yahoo server. I immediately switch over to the lan suite log page, that shows the events in real time. I see the connection to the yahoo servers.

However, the message that I sent from the yahoo servers is not processed until about 1 minute later. Does anyone know how to make lan suite process the messages as soon as they arrive? Thanks.

That's normal for a queuing mail server. You want a queuing mail server because it insures no mail is lost should the computer get shut off before it processes or the application crashes. There's not any way to change the time it runs the queue, but I believe it's around 1 minute. You could always force the processing from the console (server -> Collect POP3 mailboxes and send internet messages).

I can't even think of an enterprise level on-the-fly messaging server that would do it any differently.
