LAN SUITE locks up the computer
Posted by  Graham Stow  on Thursday, December 22, 2005 at 5:28:46 PM (EST)
Lan Suite has started running slower and slower then finally locks up the computer. Takes about 5 minutes from start to finish. Softare602 support suggests unistalling it, running a registry cleaner, then reinstalling it. But on November 23, Ian Barton posted here saying that he had been unable to carry out an 'uninstall reinstall' operation, so I'm not sure whether to risk doing this. Any suggestions?

Uhh.. What exactly happens when Ian tries to uninstall and reinstall?

Ian said "I get the message: 'The program has not been correctly installed on this computer'.
Various threads in this forum suggest running registry cleaners and trying again. I have done this and I am sure I've 100% removed every trace of the previous installation.... but I still get the same message.".

Sombody replied saying that they had the same problem but found a few files hanging around in a temporary directory and that once these were deleted, LS reinstalled OK. But I don't think I'd necessarily recognise an LS file if it stood up and bit me!
