I want to keep California FB as my default font, but the font continually reverts to Times Normal when changing to a new document.

I totally dislike New Times Roman. What I did was create a document with my favorite font setup. After I changed the font, I wrote a "period" and moved the period into the end of the page and saved the document as "Normal" and put a shortcut on my desktop. Now, I open "Normal" (it has my font ready to go)and then I "Save As: whatever and do my writing. Dumb, but not as dumb as a programmer not giving the user the ability to change the default font. I very much disagree with subjective programming.
