LanSuite and MySQL
Posted by  J.h. Roza  on Saturday, October 22, 2005 at 7:58:25 PM (EST)
I'm having trouble getting any application (MySQL Administrator, Php) to connect to MySQL.
I have MySQL 5 running as a service working via its default port 3306.
In Lansuite I made a mapping for port 3306.
When I try to log into MySQL via MySQL Administrator it fails and I see the following logging in LanSuite:

14:15:11 MAP: 1320 Connect 127.0.0.1:1035->127.0.0.1:3306
14:15:11 MAP: 1320 Remote Administration is disabled on this port.
14:15:11 MAP: 1320 Connection closed.

Why does LanSuite see this connecting to MySQL as 'Remote Administration'?
How do I configure LanSuite or MySQL so that Php or or MySQL's own Administrator can log in?

I'm just starting out with MySQL so maybe I'm overlooking the obvious but I don't see it.

Thanks!

What is the url you are using to access the admin or MySQL?

The remote admin for LANSutie is c:\lansuite\admin.

If you are trying to access mysql with an IP address ending in \admin, then LANSUITE might think you are trying to access its remote admin.

I'm not aware of any url since MySQL Administrator only show a login screen where I type my MySQL userid and password. If I look in the Lansuite log it is not showing a url. But when working on the server itself shouldn't Lansuite except all traffic from ip-address 127.0.0.1 as local traffic. Working from localhost can hardly be classified as 'remote administration'I think.
I'm totally at a loss here.

It's been quite a while since I battled with MySQL and LanSuite but the puzzle still remains.
Why when using MySQL Admin locally on the server does LanSuite give the error message that remote admin is not allowed in some port?
It would be nice if I could finally get MySQL working while using Lansuite.
