POP3 PROBLEMS!
Posted by  Tapan Ghosh  on Thursday, September 22, 2005 at 4:24:52 PM (EST)
i am using the free 5 user version and i have a simple system of two computers one acting as the server and the other a client.when i am initialising the 602LAN suite, the log file is showing this:
POP3:initializing pop3 service
[1] Bind error(I/O: No error
POP3 Listen error
Error initializing POP3 port-port already used?
now the implication is this that although my Outlook Express6 is sending mails from the client properly via the WEB mail client, the incomming mails are all collecting in the WEB mial client inbox, but the outlook express 6 cannot collect them. on establishing a connection it is showing the following msg:
Socket error:11001, Error number:0x800CCC0D.
can someone please solve this problem?

Looks like you've already got something on port 110. You might want to check your task list for other POP3 servers that might be running. Some Anti-virus software also runs on port 110 to intercept SMTP messages so you might want to turn off the mail scanning features on your antivirus software.
