SMTP port 587

Is there a way to make SMTP listen on port 587 as well as port 25? I have remote users whose ISP is blocking port 25, but if I change LS2004's port to 587 I lose my port 25 traffic. I need them both.

this isn't supported..but you might have some luck running the SSL SMTP server on another port..you'll have to configure the user to use SSL SMTP access no matter what port you use it on..

If smtp server is your only concern then running a secod parallel smtp server is your solution.

I am running lansuite's smtp server on port 25 & PostCastServer on port 26. All the usres send out through port 26 where full access is available to admin who can check/edit the outgoing messages for security.

Port 25 on lansuite is used by the admin handling catchall account messages for forwarding to appropriate person for local delivery. The system has been in operation for over 2 years without a hitch.

Pradip, that workload would be prohibitive.

I worked around the issue by changing my firewall to redirect port 587 traffic to port 25. Works fine, but I'd like to see LS2004 support 587 directly.

I agree te second smtp server would increase the load & the memory requirement. One shortcming would be except seeing very brief queued message info in the lansuite queue you only have the option of deleting it.

With PostCastServer one has full access to the entire message content & the attachments. A very critical security in the specific situation.
