Content filter not working
Posted by  Brad Gaylord  on Wednesday, September 07, 2005 at 4:33:22 AM (EST)
Ok either I donít know what Iím doing or something is wrong. I have set up the content filter to block the word test. I have put it in the block list as *test*. So if Iím doing it right it should block the URL if test is found anywhere in it. Such as http://www.test.com, http://www.howatestworks.com, http://www.fdhghtestgfgf, http://rttestft, and http://thiswontwork.test. And it works just like it should but when you go to msn, yahoo, or google and search for test it will come up with results when test is in the search string http://search.msn.com/results.aspx?q=test&FORM=QBRE am I missing something.

Well, sort of.

If you want to block test in the URL, use *test*.* --this will block a site like sometestoranother.com, test123.net, this-is-a.test, etc.
