LDAP makes Lansuite 2004 crash
Posted by  Michel vanderHeijden  on Thursday, July 21, 2005 at 7:58:30 AM (EST)
We have the latest build of LanSuite 2004 running on a Windows 2003 std server.

When i enable LDAP in LanSuite and save options LanSuite crashes. When i start the service it stops within a few seconds. The eventlog only says:

The 602LAN SUITE service terminated unexpectedly. It has done this 1 time(s).

Since i was unable to start LanSuite i traced the socksdll file and removed the LDAP settings manualy. Then LanSuite started.

We never used LDAP and don't know if we want to use it but a crashing LanSuite is never the purpose i presume. :-)

Windows 2003 installs Active Directory in as a standard feature if I remember correctly. This uses port 389. If you want to use LDAP, you need to change the port as it is conflicting with ActiveDirectory.
