Gmail ssl smtp port 465
Posted by  Charles Woolmer  on Wednesday, May 18, 2005 at 12:49:33 PM (EST)
I have a gmail account and ls2004 and outlook. POP works ok. However sent email goes from Outlook to ls2004 ok, but connection to gmail smtp fouls up because whatever I do, ls2004 wants to use port 25. (need to use 465). I have enabled smtp ssl with port 465, ticked box in advanced sending parameters that "ISP's SMTP server needs SSl ..." etc

Please help.

Enabling the SSl 465 port just allows LANSuite to receive SSL connections.

On the SMTP tab, SMTP Severs Section, there is the box "ISP's SMTP server:". In the box you need to specify 'yoursmpt.provider:465'.

PS. You do need to add email & password in advanced smtp settings.
