I broke something. All my client computers can not ping or ftp to anything outside my LAN. Look at this ping followed by nslookup on one of my client machines: -------------------------------- C:\>ping 192.168.0.1 Pinging 192.168.0.1 with 32 bytes of data: Reply from 192.168.0.1: bytes=32 time=1ms TTL=128 Reply from 192.168.0.1: bytes=32 time<1ms TTL=128 Reply from 192.168.0.1: bytes=32 time<1ms TTL=128 Reply from 192.168.0.1: bytes=32 time<1ms TTL=128 Ping statistics for 192.168.0.1: Packets: Sent = 4, Received = 4, Lost = 0 (0% loss), Approximate round trip times in milli-seconds: Minimum = 0ms, Maximum = 1ms, Average = 0ms C:\>nslookup DNS request timed out. timeout was 2 seconds. *** Can't find server name for address 192.168.0.1: Timed out *** Default servers are not available Default Server: UnKnown Address: 192.168.0.1 ------------------------------- I broke something while trying to fix the Land attack problem I was having. I should not admit this but I installed zonealarm firewall but it does not seem like that is a problem given that lansuite is defined as a "friendly" program and all the other LS service are getting through the firewall just fine. Hope someone can help. Thanks, Dan

Oh, I should show what it looks like when I try to nslookup something from a client. ------------------------------ C:\>nslookup google.com DNS request timed out. timeout was 2 seconds. *** Can't find server name for address 192.168.0.1: Timed out *** Default servers are not available Server: UnKnown Address: 192.168.0.1 DNS request timed out. timeout was 2 seconds. DNS request timed out. timeout was 2 seconds. *** Request to UnKnown timed-out ------------------------------- Any ideas why LS (or my LAN server, 192.168.0.1) is not resolving names. Thanks

Yes, I do have DNS proxy checked in the LS proxy setup page.

Just incase anybody was wondering, the problem turned out to be caused by Norton AntiVirus "Worm protection". Turned off the worm protection and DNS works fine now.
