Sumif FOrmulae

I am trying to insert a "SUMIF" formula into my spreadsheet, but without much success. Here is my dilemma;

I need to subtract a value and then calculate the sum by 10% but the sum cannot exceed 1920 i.e.

A/ 26234 - 4745 = 21489 however I need to show only 10% 0f 1920 or less

B/ 6500 - 4745 = 1755 obviously this calculation would not be a problem per se'.

Your help in the syntax of the formula would be greatly appreciated.

I'm not the best person to be answering this because formulas make my eyes cross, but according to the documentation:

Cells A1:A4 contain, for example, the following property values for four homes:

$100,000, $200,000, $300,000, $400,000.

Cells B1:B4 contain the following sales commissions on each of the corresponding property values: $7,000, $14,000, $21,000, $28,000.

Then:

SUMIF(A1:A4,">160000",B1:B4) = $63,000
