Blocking Internet Requests
Posted by  Patrick Montalbano  on Tuesday, January 04, 2005 at 7:12:57 AM (EST)
(this question may have been answered before) I would like to block only a few ip adresses that are trying to send the code red virus to my Lan602 server.
EX:
Time: PROXY: 1800 68.38.70.107 Connection has arrived. (03)
1800 Request: .....cmd.exe?/c+dir

then access is denied anyway.
I realize that this doesn't have any effect on Lan602, but it causes unnecessary traffic every half hour.

I need instructions that will only block this ip adress.

Set up the ip filter for the web server to block the iP address. Instructions for doing this can be found in the knowledge base.

I was experiencing the same situation - resolved by literally blocking access at the firewall, rather than bothering with my LS config. You never know - if they can breach the firewall, what else can they do?

I use Sygate Personal Firewall - easily configured Rules accomplish this.
