Slow POP3 access

Recently, I had the problem that whenever lansuite would process a message it would crash the program. I traced this back to a corrupt bayesian database, so today I deleted my words.db and mail.db files to fix the problem.

Ever since then my POP3 mail clients have been extremely slow to authenticate. It takes around 1 minute to auth. but there doesn't appear to be anything holding it up. There's no cpu utilization and I've rebooted the server.

Any ideas?

Never mind.

I just remembered that I also installed McAfee antivirus this afternoon. When I disabled it the POP3 access was normal. So I setup a directory exception for c:\lansuite in McAfee and now it works normally!
