I have had to disable AVG checking with Lansuite due to this update. Any attempt to send to any address outside domain then I recieve :-

Is this a univeral problem?

Yes. Me too. Just had the problem reported by a customer.

Very bad indeed.

My AVG version is reported as:

Program version: 7.0.275 / Virus database: 264

(Network edition)

Can you do me a favour & post back here if you find a solution?

I think it's more likely an AVG issue rather than 602, but I'm not sure.

This might be a problem with the 7.x version, I just tried sending a message via LAN Suite via the 6.x version and it's working just fine (latest version, updated today, don't have a version number right now, sorry--it's my home PC).

One of the things that kind of nags me about this is that you guys are getting an "Undelivered Mail Returned to Sender" message. I don't think AVG would cause this problem, maybe it's a coincidence that it's happening just then. What is the error code in the e-mail you're getting back? What does the log file say for sending these messages?

Hi I have the same situation running LS2004 c/w anti-virus Network Version (2004.0.04.0909) but still have AVG installed AVG version 264.10.3 12/10/2004

I installed the AVG 7.0 professional (single user) trial and I didn't have any problems.

It says the version is 7.0.280, so I guess I'm running the same version as everyone else. I can send mail just fine. Can someone post their log entries showing the mail being bounced as well as copy/paste one of the bounce messages?

The mail header is:

From: AVG for Email
To:> SIZE=309
Subject: Undelivered Mail Returned to Sender
Date: Thu, 14 Oct 2004 20:28:40 +0100
Mime-Version: 1.0
Content-Type: multipart/mixed; boundary="===AVG-3D6C4AE1==="
X-LNS-SpamCheck: NOSPAM, Bayesian=29

This is the AVG E-mail Scanner program.

I'm sorry to have to inform you that the message returned
below could not be delivered to one or more destinations.

-------------------------------------------------------------------> SIZE=309: Bad message size syntax

Your e-mail message is being returned to you in the next part of this

Then one of the attached files has the following contents:

Received: from (AVG SMTP 7.0.280 [264.11.0]); Thu, 14 Oct 2004 20:28:39 +0100
Date: Thu, 14 Oct 2004 20:28:00 +0100
Message-ID: <>
Subject: test
X-Mailer: 602LAN SUITE
MIME-Version: 1.0
Content-Type: text/plain; charset="ISO-8859-1"
Content-Transfer-Encoding: quoted-printable

I'm increasingly sure this is AVG's problem. I've got AVG 7.0 Network Edition.

Thanks for any light you may be able to shed on this.

Oh yes, I've actually DISABLED the AVG check box in 602Lan. And it made no difference.

OK - fixed.

Nothing to do with 602Lan.

I _think_ it was to do with the fact that I had the AVG Email Scanner enabled on the machine running 602Lan. I disabled both the "Personal Email Scanner" and the "ABG MS Outlook Extension".

I also updated to AVG Admin 7.1, but I don't think that was the problem.

Obviously Grisoft have put out an update that has more than just a new virus database in it today.

Thanks for your time, everyone who posted.
