Degree Long 79 20' 57"W
to degreees (20'/60 + 57"/3600)
= 79.34922 degrees
And go back the other way
.34922*60= 20.9532
.9532*60= 57.192
So 79 20' 57"
I have not been able to get the right math codes yet, I want to automate the hand calculations.

I'm trying to use the spreedsheet to do the following.

*In simple arithmetic:
1. Divide the minutes by 60;
2. Divide the seconds by 3600;
3. Add the two results to the degrees.

Example: 35 degrees, 30 minutes, 30 seconds
1. Divide the minutes by 60 30/60 = .500;

2. Divide the seconds by 3600 30/3600 = .0083333;

3. Add the two results to the degrees 35+.5+.008333 = 35.5083333.

I have found two small programs that will convert
latituded - longitude corrordinates

- Convert DMS Coordinates to DD

- And another program from Mentor Software Inc.
I use this one most often.

I never did get the spreed sheet math correct.
