Blacklist/Whitelist with POP3 for anti-spam
Posted by  Mike Sorensen  on Friday, April 30, 2004 at 2:50:14 PM (EST)
I know you have personal blacklist/whitelists that get used on mail collection from a POP3 account and we use the bayesian filtering as well.

Do the blacklist/whitelists in the SMTP setup get used on POP3 collection? I would like to have global lists that work on every account while using POP3 collection which the administrator would maintain, as well as the personal lists the users can maintain themselves.

If I setup the SMTP lists, will it work the way I want.

Thanks

I am having a similar problems. I use a combination of SMTP and POP3 to retrieve mail from different sources, consolidating them into one "corporate" account for each user. Problem is that ONE mailbox on the LS04 server seems to be avoiding SPAM filtering all together. Senders in the Blacklist are still able to get messages through.....

Is the POP3 mail being filtered by the Beysian filter set-up in the SMTP settings??
