Posted by  Steven Craig  on Monday, April 05, 2004 at 5:49:34 PM (EST)
The is a single ip address downloading all the files on my server which he should not be doing.

I tried banning this ip but it banns everything unless i enable access to an ip they cannot do anything.

Anyways my question is
How do i ban a single ip
Without having my www disabled?

thanks in advance

What mask where you using?

An IP filter with a mask of 255.255.255.255 should only block that very specific IP.

To check the mask, just go to the area where you defined the IP filter.
Anmoung the colum headers you should see a colum for IP address, and another column for mask. If the mask for your IP address is anything other than 255.255.255.255 then you will block multiple IP addresses. Like if it has a mask of 0.0.0.0, you will block all IP addresses.

Once you have found the IP address you created just edit it to be 255.255.255.255
