Reverse DNS Entry
Posted by  Efren Ouano  on Thursday, April 01, 2004 at 8:28:40 AM (EST)
Some of our email comes back undelivered because our domain does not have a reverse DNS entry.

Where is this entry made?

Thank you for your assistance.

You will have to talk to your ISP to set up a reverse DNS entry.

The ISP you got your IP address from, controls that IP. So only they can create a reverse entry

Note that this is usually called a PTR record. Russell is correct though, your DNS administrator or hosting provider will need to set this up.

Thank you. I have contacted Sprint who is the provider of our private line and the ip in question.
