I've had LS2003 running perfect on a nt4.0 system but recently migrated to 2000 server and 2003 server. LS is currently on a 2003 server, P3, 256MB RAMBUS RAM (yeah I know I could use more RAM. 1. Installed modem USR V.90 2. Created Lansuite Dir 3. Copied files to LS Dir. 4. Reinstalled LS2003 Problem? Modem pickup (good) FAX init. (sometimey) Looses more faxes than it gets. Changed Pickup after # of rings from 1 to 2 took me from nothing to sometimey Current modem string = AT&F&D2&C1&H1&R2&I0S7=55 have also used ATQ0V1E1X3S0=0 with same results. Getting EXTREMELY CRITICAL!!!! Please HELLLLLPPPPPP!

I have exactly the same problem. We have tested a few Modems (Devolo Microlink Fun-USB, US-Robotics Modem, ACER Modem 56Surf) allways the same Problem. The Problem only occures on Win2000 or Win2003 Machines. With NT4 we have no problem. It occures only with some (about 20%) fax machines (TAFX505, Samsung, Xerox and others) at the other side. This behaviour is reproduceable.

I had already tried the solution suggested by Andy Sharrem and only got minimal results. Still dropping 4 out of 5 faxs. Called 602 for support... Was given the "Because there are so many different modems on the market yada yada yada... We cant offer support" What I did find out after talking to several modem makers is that the problem may be with the OS considering that there are NO 2000 or 2003 drivers (not even @ USRobotics) for modems yet.

Maybe it will help to chose a "designed for Windows XP" modem. You will find a list here: http://www.microsoft.com/windows/catalog/default.aspx?subid=22&xslt=categoryl2&pgn=fbbe5c6c-6628-4d54-bd9d-c1b91b6b7c6a Unfortunatly, most modems are dificult to buy... The only modem we can obtain from 3 huge distributors is the Creative Labs PCI modem. We just ordered it and will try it tomorrow. Results will follow soon...

The Creative Labs PCI modem works fine. And I assume that all "Designed for Windows XP" modems will work. The Only thing with the Creative Modem was that it hat problems to detect the alternate ring from internal Phone. So the phone has to be reconfigured. Now it works well for 2 weeks on 2 diferent servers. Greetitngs Matti Haack
