Hi! I have a question concerning the update function of microsoft internet explorer: when calling this function from a workstation I get the error message that the page http://www.microsoft.com/isapi/redir.dll?prd=ie&clcid=0x0c07&pver=6.0&ar=ienews&os=N5 cannot be displayed. Is this a firewall issue or is it possible that microsoft has problems with this site? Does anyone know which ports and protocols are used by this microsoft update feature? Regards, Peter

Not sure if this KB article from microsoft applies: http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;241234 It talks about proxy caching interefering with the windows update downloads. And says to clear the cache and exclude windows update from caching. LS2003 proxy does have a cache built-in, and you may have to turn it off. There does not seem to be any way to disable pages from specific web sites being cached. There is the 'do not cache CGI' check box, do not know if this applies to ActiveX controls or not.
