W2K Server is a LDAP server already. Active Directory enhances this service and uses port 389.
W2K Server also includes Site Service, which is also a LDAP Service more like Lansuites service. The W2K Site Service uses port 1002, now the accepted alternative to port 389.
Try running 'Lansuite.exe /config' and change the LDAP port to 1002.
To make full use of LDAP within an app like outlook you would now need to specify the new LDAP port, eg. 192.168.1.1:1002.
Netmeeting is also an app that uses LDAP.
