lansuite running but not showing in system tray
Posted by  Kevin Turner  on Monday, February 09, 2004 at 5:31:58 PM (EST)
Installed LANSUITE no problem. Set all configurations and everything worked fine. When minimised it appeared in the system tray.
However, after rebooting, LANSUITE is running, but there’s no icon in the system tray.
Now, every time I try to connect to the internet – via dial-up – LANSUITE dial the connection, the connection is established, then the connection is instantly terminated.

So, my question is: “how do I get LANSUITE to appear in the system tray so I can find out what’s going on with the dial-up connection?”

Regards - Kevin

Seems like it is running as a service. Best way to check settings would be the web interface '127.0.0.1/admin'.

You can check the logs in the landesk directory; Snnnnn.log
'n' is a number.

If you wnat to use the Lansuite control panel, you would have to go to 'services', and stop the Lansuite service. Then you can start it from the command line.

used Lansuite.exe /config, and then uninstalled all Win Services.
Rebooted and hey-presto...

thanks for pointing me in the right direction.
