PDF file size
Posted by  Roland Schibli  on Friday, December 19, 2003 at 3:27:24 PM (EST)
the size of the PDF files created is rather large and bigger than the original files, even with the graphics setting at 75 dpi. Is there a way to create smaller files?

Not with Print Pack. The file size is due to the graphical nature of the document, from what I hear it takes a snapshot of the doc and inserts it into a pdf.

I think for $20 it does a fine job even with the bigger file sizes.

I just upgraded to 602Printpak 3.0 from the 2001 version. In that version there was a PDF Distiller choice when you clicked Print in your document. It saved the PDF to a much smalller file size than Print to PDF.

I am disappointed that choice is evidently not available in this version. I email a newsletter out each month and it was about 60kb with the distiller option and now it is 635kb. I know the recipients aren't going to be happy with such a large file.
