  Posted by  Eu -  on Tuesday, May 14, 2002 at 8:59:57 AM (EST)
Ihave tried to install fax,installation worked fine,but
if I try to print to the fax
printer I initially get an window
asking for page layout and a
"send Using" or "file" option
After that, I get the message
saying "Can not run program for sending fax" I guess is 602PRo mail Client

Tried today.

BugBear virus passed LS2002/AVG and ended in Outlook Express inbox.

Installed SP1 for LS and latest AVG update.
Log shows - messages is clean

This is now a MAJOR problem.

If local user don't have some kind of anti-virus protection it will end in their mailbox.

Victor,

Your blue-screen and reboot (or freeze) is similar to my above-mentioned virus. Have you run a complete check with AVG and current definitions?

Dear Robert,

It is becoming increasingly frustrating and I'm in a total mess. After having tried one or two things, see below the log entries:

14:38 am SMTP: Processing 2ed07428.xq message...
11:14:38 am SMTP: [2] Searching for 'mail.multilinks.com'...
11:14:38 am SMTP: [2] Connecting to 'mail.multilinks.com' (212.165.142.239:25) ...

11:14:38 am SMTP: [2] Waiting for identification...
11:14:38 am PROXY: 0568 Proxy.
11:14:38 am SMTP: [2] SMTP connection to 'mail.multilinks.com' established.
11:14:39 am SMTP: [2] 550 not local host otenet.gr, not a gateway
11:14:40 am SMTP: [2] SMTP connection to 'mail.multilinks.com' terminated.
11:14:41 am SMTP: 2ed07428.xq message cannot be delivered to 1 addressees.
11:14:49 am PROXY: 0568 12791B/9s

As you have been told already, I used "mail.multilinks.com" as my SMTP Server while their DNS Servers were specified as "212.165.142.249" and "212.165.142.248" in the Advanced Sending Parameters Tab.

I have also calle Multilinks to ask if they have blocked anything to which they replied no.

Pls, try help me out of this.

If you are using IE you should be able to set each machine to "auto discover" proxy settings but once again that means configuring each machine.

I use a simple VB Script to configure the proxy settings at logon. Either assign the script as a logon script in group policy, or place it the all users' start directory.

Const HKEY_CURRENT_USER = &H80000001

strComputer = "."
Set objRegistry = GetObject("winmgmts:\\" & strComputer & "\root\default:StdRegProv")

strKeyPath = "SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Internet Settings"

strValueName = "ProxyEnable"
devalue = 1
objRegistry.SetDWORDValue HKEY_CURRENT_USER, strKeyPath, strValueName, dwValue

strValueName = "ProxyServer"
strValue = "192.168.58.100:80"
objRegistry.SetStringValue HKEY_CURRENT_USER, strKeyPath, strValueName, strValue

Thanks for your reply. I just did some testing and worked out that the page is displayed correctly on Firefox but not on Internet Explorer 7. Why is this? Any ideas?

Thanx for replying. I tried to let the faxmachine answer before the faxserver answers, but for some mysterious reason and randomly (not always), the faxserver answers instead of the faxmachine.

But it is OK now, because I convinced my boss to let the faxserver handle the incoming traffic instead of the faxmachine. But it is still weird, isn't it?

Thanx

Same here, so the new version will not be installed again.
I stick to the previous version until a repaired version will see the light.

Thanks for the reply. You are right, "free" in Internet-Talk translates to "free download". Like a free look in a store. The only free things are those nasty marketing bots that eventually consumes your system. I've totally given up with 602 et al anyway. No support, no future that I can see. I paid about $13 (from "nothingbutsoftware.com) for an interesting suite from e-Press called ONE. A lot of ripoff code from OpenOffice and it has bugs, but very functional and a very fun suite. At least the date stamp works & the trial is "free".

Yes things do seem fine. My only query is at the moment I am able to connect directly to the internet by-passing the proxy. Is the normal procedure or am I able to run a client process from the server.

Well I turned of ICS sharing and completely @@@LLL&&@ things up. Let me make sure I understand things here: Currently the BT Router is using NAT But have set DHPC to manual the Router address is 192.168.1.1 It has address of My Server Broadband connection from Nic 2 is configured to static 192.168.1.3, I am assuming that this is the Proxy server IP ? Nic 1 to the internal lan is set at 192.168.0.1 and the remaining clients 0.2 etc. Am I to assume the DNS needs setting to the Server on the client machines which would be 192.168.1.3 ? I think I am getting confued between the DNS and the proxy serve IP ?

I've tried that for FTP, SMTP, and WWW, with no luck.

Thank you very much for your reply. I had reviewed that particular knowledgebase article. It assumes that you will be connecting from a static IP. I instead figured out that simply opening a port via the firewall page for incoming www connections will do it. Though being able to specifiy a single IP via mapping would be more secure.

Thank you,

Hi, The only ftp client I have found which works is Filezilla using http proxy on lansuite.
  Posted by M Dijoux  on Wednesday, September 13, 2006 at 4:54:43 PM (EST)
Hello,

Robert Smith say 'it looks to be working just fine' and maybe it's because i use a webmail client like SquirreMail.
Indeed, the Cegetel.net's webmail is based on Squirremail, but with the Outlook client, deleting works.
Nevertheless, 602Lan delete correctly mails on another webmail (free.fr).

Maybe the delete command send by 602 LAN can not be understood by SquirreMail Server ?

Thanks for your help.

Sorry my previous reply is a mistake...
Someone could delete it ?
  Posted by Robert Smith  on Thursday, September 14, 2006 at 9:40:55 AM (EST)
Are you referring to folders in the web path? eg, you have something like:

http://yourcompany.com/something here/filename.html

?

This really isn't a bug in the software, this is how all web servers will behave. some of them might translate it to /something_here/ as 602LAN SUITE does, some even will make it /something%20here/

The search engines will eventually re-spider your site and correct the links.

Thank you Russell.

I just ordered the Content Filtering upgrade (to the free 5 user license). I have no problem with paying $100.00 for this.

Now I can stop worrying that my boys might stumble upon less than desirable webpages.

Again, thanks.

For anyone else reading this thread....

Since using the host as opposed to the user implimentation I have found this software to be GREAT! It is much easier to setup content filter / parental controls on a proxy machine versus 3 PCs at home. Also, looking thru the tips and tricks can be very enlightening.
