Topic is Open Hello everyone. I have a problem and wondering if anyone else has experienced the same thing.

I use Outlook express to compose a new email message to a user@aol.com. I send the message and Outlook express connects to my Lansuite Server. I have Lansuite configured to NOT use my ISP's SMTP server. I have internet DNS set and can successfully send mail to anyone@anywherebutaol.com. Here is an excerpt from my Lansuite log:

06:45:46 am SMTP: Requesting MX records for domain 'aol.com'...
06:45:46 am SMTP: MX records for domain 'aol.com' found.
06:45:46 am SMTP: [2] Connecting to 'mailin-01.mx.aol.com' (64.12.136.57:25) ...
06:45:47 am SMTP: [2] Connection to 'mailin-01.mx.aol.com' (64.12.136.57:25) established.
06:45:47 am SMTP: [2] Waiting for identification...
06:45:47 am SMTP: [2] 554- (RTR:BB) The IP address you are using to connect to AOL is a dynamic
06:45:47 am SMTP: [2] SMTP service on computer 'mailin-01.mx.aol.com' not prepared (554).

It will try to resend indefinately, but never succeed. Has anyone else seen this? Is there a way to fix it? I have tried 3 seperate addresses at AOL and all got the same error.

Thanks for any help.

Topic is Open I have an advanced server windows 2k running. I am running IIS, so i did not need to configure 602Pro Lan Suite 2002's WWW server.

I have created users and accounts, and i was able to send email using outlook 2000. However, when i try to send an email from outside (or even from my own computer) to a user @mydomain.com it never gets to my mailbox. When i check messages it says that i don't have any messages.

I read almost all the messsages posted and tried to do what everybody has been saying, but no luck. I have a user name, his alisas is username@mydomain.com. I am using POP3 to receive mail. in the kernell, it says that connection to POP3 server has been established, but always gives me no message found in mail box.

Any ideas? Problems receiving mail on Windows 2K thru Outlook

Topic is Open Has anyone figured out a foolproof setup for opening ports for file sharing? I cannot seem to get everything to work. I opened a port on the router alllowing the server to be the IP address of the machine running LAN SUITE. Possibly the erroneous info is in LAN SUITE setup (mapped links page) -- Can I use 0.0.0.0 for the destination server's address... ?

router is 192.168.1.1
all workstations have assigned IP addresses
LS is on 192.168.1.111
I want to allow two IP addresses (192.168.1.212 & 213) to have access to those ports (tcp 11000 & UDP 11001) mapping ports for p2p sharing

Topic is Open Hopefully I am providing enough correct information to have someone point out the obvious mistake on my part.

The problem: failure to send to aol addresses and possibly related, the intermittent lack of ability to deliver messages to regularly deliverable mail servers. This is without any notification to the Prolan SMTP server, which has cleared its queue, however not mail is at the expected site. Finally, there seems to always be redundant delivery of emails when sent through the Prolan server.

The theories:
1) SMTP direct through a dynamic IP to AOL is denied to protect from spam. The solution: use the ISP's SMTP server. No help. Email still fails to send.

2) Prolan is running as both a service and an app in XP and attempts to send the queue both times.

I hate asking stupid questions, so I appologize to everyone who recognizes this for the stupidity that it is. SMTP oddities

Topic is Open Have searched the forums to no avail.

I am trying to use an ftp client over a network through ls2002. my ftp client is filezilla. even after following as many examples as I can find via this forum, i still get no connection through the proxy server. Is it easier to have a ftp server running on my server to access ftp through networks or is there an obvious solution out there for me.

thanks in advance. LS2002 and fpt
