Topic is Open We have been getting bombarded by spam purporting to be sent by 'internal' users, i.e. from joker@domain.com to joker@domain. I was hoping to avoid this by using IP filter but apparently, this is restricted only for internal relaying to external messages. Is there any other way I could restrict external senders from sending messages to internal users while purporting to be an internal user? Internal spam messages

Topic is Open I am running 602pro (current version) on a Windows XP pro machine. I have created a self signed SSL certificate. Remote users sing on via SMTP and POP3 using SSL. Since I added more users, I have started getting a SSL layer initialization failed when people try to use secure POP3. If I restart 602Pro, it will work correctly for a while (anywhere from an hour to a day) and then the SSL error reappears. the SSL error stops people from retreiving their email via outlook. Topic is Open Hello,

Our organization has been using 602LAN for several years & I inherited the setup. I am not an IT person, so please dumb it down for me! 602LAN has been working fine up until several days ago. Then users sporadically would not be able to access shared resources on the network. They were able to send/receive external email & surf the internet fine. There is no pattern at all to who is allowed to log onto a mapped drive on the network from day to day.

The server is W2k sp4 using Active Directory
Every workstation is XP pro sp2

192.168.0.1 255.255.255.0 addressing scheme static entries for all pc’s.

Users see the following message:

Error ccurred while reconnecting R://servername resource MS Win network local device name is already in use this connection has not been restored.

It has nothing to do with idle server timeout’s for users that leave share open too long. Nor are there any MS licensing issues. & as far as I can tell from 602LAN settings none have been changed (I would be the only one with access to do so). Nor are there any error’s found in the servers event viewer. The only errors that I have found to support the denial of access were within 602LAN’s logs.

My question is has anyone seen these type of errors before? What do they mean? Is there any documentation that explains how to understand and troubleshoot the entries? I have read the manual over & over, looked through every article on the KB & have looked at every entry in the forum for an answer. I have also looked up understanding w3c log file formats & I am still at a loss as to what the problem is and how to fix it.

Thank you for your help.

Topic is Open We have recently been hammered by emails from several different domains, i.e., navers.com, empas.com, empal.com, dreamwhiz.com, etc. I have added all of these addresses to my blacklist and cleaned out completely my whitelists. However, every day when I check back some of these domains have been added back to my whitelists and the emails then get through. At one point, I had 14k addresses in my whitelist and the only thing that I could do was delete the email account and rebuild it. Any guidance in how to stop these addresses from being added to my whitelist would be greatly appreciated.

Topic is Open I have Content Filter activated.

I have a whitelist rule which applies on a given IP, so this IP has full access to anywhere.

I also have a Content Filter Rules so no access to web, sex or any other sites is allowed for any other users.

Everything works fine for the IP on the whitelist rule, except on ftp over http, as any ftp request is blocked by Content Filter.

Any ideas?
Thank you.

Topic is Open Dear Friends,

I have a broad band connection and i dont have static IP address.

I am confused. I want to know can I send a email directly to the receipent without using ISP or third party SMTP server. I need this because my ISP does not support the sending of any mail through its server if the reply email id is different then the email id provided.

As I can understand by reading the manual, that i can send.. then my confusion comes should i have to give the DNS in Advance Setup .. ... (i have static IP address), that means can i send mail with my dynamic IP address.

Secondly what can be the size of attachment i can send through through.. Lan Suite SMTP server.

My another problem is how can i send a internal emails to the LS users connected to my local Lan.
