Topic is Open Build 2004-0-06-1017 installed on Windows XP SP2. Mostly the fax server works fine as generaly, 98% of the time, we ensure all attachments sent to the server from Exchange are in .tiff format. Sometimes it may receive a document from a user in another format or it could be that it is receiving a external fax (unlikley as we do not advertise the fax number) which cause Lansuite to crash.
As Lansuite restarts the fax server starts, finds a documnet to send, the log shows that it is converting the document then it crashes. Just before the fax server stops it sends a message to fax receipents (like a received fax) with a 17kb .tiff formated attachment, however the attachment is unreadable as the document format is 'invalid or not supported' when veiwd through MS imaging.
The only way to fix the problem is to go into the Lansuite\IO\vystupni directory and delete all the files. These files have the same file prefix as what is displayed in the log window as the document it is converting.

Anyone have a resolution? Fax server causes Lansuite to restart

Topic is Open All,

When I activate SSL for POP3 and SMTP (client and server side), Outlook Express doesn't proceed any further than 'securing'. I can read my mail via https.

Sofar, I configured:
- POP3 SSL socket 995
- SMTP SSL socket 465
- Created a local certificate
- Installed the certifcate via IE
Anything else I should do?

    Will

Topic is Open All,

When I activate SSL for POP3 and SMTP, the Lansuite service shows a high CPU load. Which stays at 99% until I turn this feature off.

What could be wrong?

Best regards,

Topic is Open Hi,
I have Lansuite 2004 with included anti-virus running for 50 users on a Windows 2003 server.
I would like to add an extra anti-virus on the same server for files checking. What anti-virus can you recommend?

Other question: I will set up a new smtp gateway before the Lansuite server. On this gateway I would like to check emails on spam and virusses. This as an addtional controle before the mails are treated by Lansuite. I do not want to remove the Lansuite anti-spam and anti-virus functionality, just enforce security.
I was thinking to use the Mailenable software as extra gateway. There are anti-spam plug ins and antivurs plug ins.

Can someone help me with this? What are your experiences?

The Lansuite server is accessible through internet, that's why I am concerned on the security matters. Anti-virus solution

Topic is Open Hi
We are mainly using the Lansuite as a mailserver at our campus next to an e-learning environment and intranet.
At the moment users have to login to each of these on the specified pages. We would like a single sign on page so that at least they would not have to sign in again for checking their mail for instance and then again for accessing information on the intranet etc.

Does anyone have any experience with this and lansuite or is it (as i am affraid) just not possible to code something like it?

The other applications we use are written in php.

Regards

Topic is Open I have 2 users - user 1 and user 2 - and a third machine running 602LANSuite. This all runs fine on my local network. The users are on IP addresses 192.168.1.11 and 12 (both DHCP allocated), and the server is on address 192.168.1.200 (fixed). The connection from the server is via a router on 192.168.1.1 to my ISP. My ISP-allocated external IP address is, say, a.b.c.d.

What I now want to do is for user 1 to be able to access his malbox over the Internet. But I can't work out how to set this up. Obviously I can't access it on address 192.168.1.200 so I guess I have to go through some sort of translation process, preumably using NAT, but I can't figure out the details.

Can anyone help? Retrieving emails via the Internet

Topic is Open We currently have over 150 users using Lansuite for many years now. Each new user starts out with a mailbox with a size limit of 100 megs. Once the user reaches the limit, the user cannot receive any additional emails until the size is increased or they clean out their mailbox.

Whenever I create a new user, I log in as that user and set the deleted folder to remove the emails after 2 days.

Unfortunately, Lansuite allows the user to change the settings and keep the files in their deleted folder indefinately.

Currently I have to go into each mailbox and manually delete the files in the trash folders. With 150 users and 150 directories, this is getting out of hand. Any ideas on how to automaitcally delete the files would be greatly appreciated. How Do You Get Rid of Deleted EMails
