Topic is Open Geez! ... I'm kinda new to networking and got lansuite to get my network on the net.

My sister likes to use mirc but can i get it to work?!?! Hell no! Something to do with open proxy.

I assume this is something to do with the ip filter tab?

My set up is:

Server on a cable connection, all computers are connected through a hub.

I am using 169.254.101.*** as my ip range.

Server is 169.254.101.1
comp1 is 169.254.101.2
comp2 is 169.254.101.3
comp3 is 169.254.101.4 IP Filtering! ARGH!

A W2000 Server with 2 nic, and prolansuite installed. When I try to configure de Pop3 service through all interfaces, i have this error
- BIND ERROR
- POP3Listen (4) Error
- Error intializing pop3 port - port already used?

I tried to start it through each interace listed in the combo box, and it did it successfully... the problem is when I try to do it through all interfaces...

Topic is Open Setting up the WWW server was relatively easy and simple, but, no matter what settings I try, I cannot access the server thru an ftp program. Is there something i'm doing wrong? what I'm trying to do is access the server remotely from a different location with no sucess.
I looked in the configuration and have everything setup accordingly. Even put the same exact username and password but still with no luck. Can Anyone Please help me????

Thanks,

Topic is Open I can just about work out all the setup for lansuite, but outlook keeps refusing me access to my mailbox, though I can send emails, and I know that messages are being received by lansuite. I am probably getting the password system mixed up, between windows logon, users in lansuite, and isp settings.
I know I sound stupid, but please help me, and I'll go away!

Topic is Closed Have a problem with the WWW Server and IP filtering. I blocked one machine as a test and, it was successfully blocked from the WWW server. When that machine's IP was cleared, Lansuite still blocked it. Specifically allowing that IP does not change the result - Lansuite WWW server still considers it blocked. Only by removing the WWW server's ip filtering is the IP allowed. So, three questions: 1-why does the machine in question remain blocked? 2-where are the filter parameters stored and 3-can they be manually edited? WWW Server and IP Filter

Topic is Open Hi guys,

I've been using Tight VNC from www.tightvnc.com to connect to and maintain a few computers - client calls with problem, I get them to run Tight VNC, I can fix problem using a web browser.

Does anyone have any ideas on how to use Tight VNC on machines inside the LAN using mapped links? I can get the login screen up but can't then actually log in and do stuff.

Tight VNC works a treat for servers when you have someone at the remote site to start the service (very risky to leave it running 24hrs).

TIA,
